Tachometer in place of the clock

I read somewhere about a German made Tach that mounts in place of the
clock on an Amphicar and looks stock. I can't seem to find it on line
now. Does anyone have any info on what might work? It seems to me it was
supposed to be a bolt in swap.

Craig:

Maybe you remember the postings to this List in the Archives at
http://www.escribe.com/automotive/amphicar/m5089.html or
http://www.escribe.com/automotive/amphicar/m2886.html ?

Not much info in either posting about the setup or brand of tachometer (rev
counter), but maybe you can contact the original authors off-list for more
info.
