The "Swim with Dave the Wave" was one of the best events that I have ever
attended. Maybe Celina is better, but not by much!

Dave, I have been to all your swim-ins and they keep getting better. I can't
imagine how the 5th will be even better, but I am sure that you will do it.

The 4th will be especially memorable to me because I had the opportunity to
give myself a nickname. I told Margie Wave on the phone on Sunday night that
finally having my own Amphi nickname feels like the official inauguration
into the club. I don't know if it is, but it sure feels right. Hopefully,
Dave will tell the story as he tells it so much better than I do. But
helping Joe Koenig led to my apparent death and one of the most stressful
experiences of Dave Derer's life.

By the way, I couldn't speak to Dave on Sunday night. He was having so much
fun on the river that he forgot to come home. Dave....Monday is a work day.

PS Don't forget June 21, the date of the "Swim on the Ultimate Amphicar
Lake". I have a special surprise for the attendees (you must have access to
an Amphi to experience this one). You won't forget it!

Charles and Nancy,

My car and I would probably attend your swim-in and I would be looking for
someone to join me. Jeanne, my wife, will probably decline.

Set the date!

See you all at Dave's and at "Swim on the Two Ultimate Amphicar Lakes". I
guess that the name should be changed as
Canada Lake is no longer a secret to the Amphicar crowd!

Looks like I may sell and deliver a trailer to southern Florida. If I could
get at least 1 more buyer in that direction, the delivery cost could be
reduced by dividing by the total number of trailers that I deliver. I can
stack 3 on top and still only slightly exceed the weight of an Amphicar. The
only extra cost is the loading and unloading

I doubt that I will ever pass the wave, but don't forget that "Swim on the
Ultimate Amphicar Lake" actually includes a swim on two extraordinary
bodies of water! June 26, 2004

See you all at Dave's, mine, both orphan shows, Celina, Holland, Capone's
(if he gets it together). Does anyone know of any others in the Midwest?

The "Swim on the Ultimate Amphicar Lake" swim-in is less than 2 weeks away!
Actually, there are 2 lakes to play in.

Last year we had 8 cars. I predict 15 for the 2nd annual.

Ros Varon from Channel 7 news says that since I have stalked her for 8 or so
years, she says that she will come as long as she can get a ride in every
car.

Since she loves cars and features "I love my car" about once a week (the
Amphicar and even the skier have been on Chicago land TV). Hopefully, she
will bring Hosea, Judy-Su, Tracy, Lea, and the camera crew. Maybe even
Chopper 7. On second thought, I think that would be a problem as we don't
have a great place to land.....unless they install floats.

Saturday is the "Swim on the Ultimate Amphicar Lake". The weather forecast
is perfect. Lots of cars and people. Even celebs. Fun is guaranteed. Life is
good!

I'm making the lunch food run on Friday. Please help me by e-mailing or
calling me at 219-405-1241 ASAP with the word that you will attend so that I
don't buy too little

See you all on Saturday.

I would like to go to the swim-in in Canada on August 7 if I can find
someone else that wants to go and split expenses. I live in NW Indiana.
Please contact me if interested. Would leave early Friday morning and return
Monday night (allowing 2 days to play in Canada).

The 2nd Annual "Swim on the Ultimate Amphicar Lake" had low attendance last
year. Only a couple cars showed.

Because of the time required and of the cost (a portable toilet, food, dash
plaques), I have decided to end it unless other club members change my mind.

Since Celina is July 23 and Orilla is June 18, the only Saturday available
is July 9. I will host it as long as enough people commit.

Hi

We have a great place to have a "swim in" atLake Cavanaugh, north of Seattle, Wa.
We don't have a amphicar yet, but this a great lake to have it on.
The house needs work because we were victims of contractor fraud. Hopefully we can get it together by July.
Hopefully we will be able to finish the home and maybe even getting an amphicar someday soon.
We are both disabled and I am awaiting my Social Security hearing.
We also have litigation pending regarding the contractor fraud. I hope that goes well. I can't believe the condition the contractor left this place in, We are living in tent in the living room now,but the view is tremendous.
Glad it hasn't been too cold of a winter here in the Seattle area.

Thanks

Hi Cheri! & welcome to the group. If you're not a
member of the Amphicar Club please consider joining as
it is a GREAT place for more information and
amphibious comraderie.

We are located on Lake McMurray, just down Hwy 9
(although as this is being typed we are in the street
outside of Amphipoda's in San Diego) and swim often in
the beautiful, although ramp deficient, Lake
Cavavaugh.

We will return in early March & could certainly splash
by to see your "work-in-process".

"The Ultimate Amphicar Lake" is in Valparaiso, Indiana (NW). We swim
actually in 2 lakes that are connected, Long and Canada. Both lakes have a
speed limit of 10 MPH.

Aside from being the 1st person to successfully pull a skier on conventional
water skis behind a stock Amphicar (some Amphicar people disagree with this
claim to fame), I'll bet that I am also the 1st person to legally pull a
skier on Long Lake.
