Thanks David for the info.
As a matter of fact I have mailed Amsoil three times asking for info of
oversea distributors or how I can purchase them, but sofar they havn't even
responded :-(.
Would it be possible to buy some cartridges from you?
I think the Shell SRS4000 is a useful substitute for Amsoil, but if the best
is availible I will ofcourse use it.
The only thing I know for sure is that I will not follow the original
Amphicar greasing recomendations telling us to use molybedendisulfid-grease,
since all the experts I have been talkning to tells me that brass an
molybedendisulfid is no good combination.
While writing this note to you a friend from Helsingborg (the port to
Denmark and Germany) phoned me reporting a red Amphie-car with a camper
connected is waiting to launch the ferry. He couldn't see the reg.number
from his office.
Best regards

Thanks Bo, that is useful. There are some synthetic greases available in
Europe
that should work the same as Amsoil. The spec sheets are on the Amsoil
website
and synthetic products made by Agip and Shell look to be very close. I
don't
think there is a good alternative to Amsoil gear lube which works very
well in
the Amphicar transmission, I wouldn't use anything else.
Synthetic products cost much less in the US so even with shipping charges
which
double the cost, they cost no more than local products so you might as
well use
Amsoil.
Amsoil will not ship to the UK so I order it on their website and get it
shipped to a friend in the US and then get them to ship it to Europe using
USPS
surface mail which takes about 6 weeks.
