About "metal-props".
I agree with those how have some doubts about the original nylon-propellers.
I have done some simple calculations and pressure-tests on my props and they
will for sure not have the same shape in high revs as they have statically.
In sweden we can buy a standard-propeller, PROPULSE (www.propulse.se), that
can be mounted on a number of different axles, outborders, inu-drives etc.
These propellers can be bought in different sizes, the angles of the blades
are easy to adjust and there is a built in friction coupling as a safety
device. The prices are very competitive too.
Anybody with knowledge about these or similar propellers?

I think the brass (or bronze) props are a good idea but you would have
to replace the steel keyways with aluminum ones to provide a shear
capability in case of hitting something. This would avoid the tranny
damage that the Colorado Native worries about.
I particularly like the idead because the rear edges of a bronze prop
can be cupped which would help reduce Amphicar's high speed cavitation
problem a lot.
