Hi Gang:

Well the weather was unusually dreary and misty for Southern
Californian standards, but I had a nice Sunday morning showing some
friends my new toy at Puddingstone Lake near Pomona, CA.

The 50 mile round-trip drive along the freeway from my home went
fine. However, I am still getting used to all the people who pull up
close to you, honk their horns, and give you the "thumbs up" sign as
they pass by. One thing is for sure though, it sure puts a smile on
everyone's face.

A ride in an Amphicar cannot be uneventful, though. The in-line fuse
for the back-up bilge pump scraped against the hot engine block and
melted; the sideview mirror fell off; the rear seat back blows upward
at high freeway speeds; and on one lake run I neglected to close the
driver's door securely, resulting in gushing water through the door
until I quickly returned to the boat ramp!

I have posted a photo in the Photos section for your enjoyment.

This new Amphi lifestyle of mine is really fun!!!!

Everyone smiles, except the guy stuck behind you.
