Steve:

Definitely count me IN on that one. I think both of
your suggestions are good ones. Some friends told me
that Elsinore would be good because the ramp is a
gentle slope, although I have not personally checked
it out myself. Perris is a bigger place, but may be
too busy for us?? Let's check it out.

Please put me to work on this mission as I would be
happy to help out.

My Amphicar arrived last Wednesday from Canada and I
am going to the DMV in the morning to fight THAT
battle, so I should be ready to go swimming soon.

Hi Steve,
With a bit of luck, I'll have one of my Amphicars running in a few
weeks. If it will make it that far, I'd love to go.

Hi-

The International Amphicar Club lists 21 California Amphicar owners.
Several owners that I know of do not belong to the club (shame on you). It
is unclear how many cars are in the Southern California (SoCal) area.

I have checked out two lakes that are equi-distant (85 miles) from San Diego
and Los Angeles. Lake Elsinore is long, narrow, and not very inviting.
Lake Perris is nestled in the mountains and is quite pleasant. Multiple
boat ramps, but too busy for splash entries.

If a swim-in event were scheduled for late May (temperature in the 80's),
e.g. May 25th, at Lake Perris would there be any interest?

Is there another lake that would be better?

Let me know.

Hi Steve,
Assuming that I get the bugs worked out in my White Amphi by then,
I'm, interested in some form of Southern California get together. I
suspect Santa Barbara would be a bit beyond comfortable driving
distance though.

Hi-

A swim-In in San Diego is planned for June 1st at San Vicente Lake in
Lakeside, CA. This is convenient for San Diego Amphi owners and is within
range of LA Amphi Owners. Hope you can make it.

I have filed the flyer and map at Amphicar-Lovers Yahoo Group under AMPHICR
files.
