Rear Dust / Grease Axle Caps

Hi There, I always wonder if they do anything at all.
I never thought they could do anything. There is no greese there to keep in and they are never water tight so they don't keep water out, that is off the nut.
I don't use them if they are missing and I leave them on if they are there.
But I don't think they do anything at all.
Any comment anyone?

Tommy,
In my opinion they do absolutely nothing but hold water on the nut when they get old and crunchy. Better to take them off completely if they are worn out. If still pliable and tight they look nice and you can pack some grease inside to protect the nut from rust.

Ken Richter only made the rubber fronts because they actually are needed to keep water out of bearings. I still have sets for the front available if anyone needs any...

The Amphicar Company tried their best to seal water out but didn't realize that in alot of instances they sealed water in, as we all know.

John,

How much are you selling the sets of the front rubbers for? I'm
interesting in buying a set.

Thanks,

I'd like to buy two of them. Do you take Paypal or would you prefer a
check?

Let me know what the total would be with shipping.

Thanks,

Brad

Cigarman,

You can also post them on the new amphicar-lovers classifieds section and avoid the ebay fees. You may list as a standard sale item or as an auction.
