To keep some conversation going, something I have wondered about for years:
When pulling the rear axle through the bearings it is important to insure that the axle is TIGHT! I have always used a couple-foot long breaker bar to snug the nut, but am always concerned that I will go a bit too far & strip the axle threads if I push for just one more flat for the cotter pin. There is no torque value in the maintenance manual that I can find. How tight do you-all tighten the nut? --Larry
