John,
See Danger Will Robinson for referance on entry into and out of lakes
that you can not see under the water in most lakes there are stumps
and hidden little evil doers just waiting under the water( this
sounds like an amphipoda trilogy coming) to submerge your amphi.
Not to mention you need to know what your shore line is composed of I
have seen some that are no problem coming up because it is rock based
to mud up to the axles after awhile you will learn the differance and
if you look around theramps you can kind of get an idea of what a lot
of the shore line is. I always spend the first hour on a lake getting
a feel of it and looking for emergency exit points just in case
before I get overly confident.
