Steve,

Powder coating is the most durable coating available. You can
literally take a hammer to it without damage. It is baked on and
becomes part of the piece. Scratches are not a problem because it is
tough to scratch it to begin with. The frame on my HD (and most hod
rods) is powder coated and after all it has been through, it looks
and shines like new.

All of My really rusty Reese hitches are powder coated.
Like Por it holds moisture great when cut. Same goes for that Gluv it. I
really like self etching epoxy that has zinc. I have been 100% happy with
products from southernpolyurethanes.com. It has great adhesion, fabulous
rust preventive propertys and top coats easily with any brand primer or base
coat. Does not react with gas so is perfect for gas tanks. Like all epoxys
