Does anyone have a good picture of their engine compartment? Mine has
been pretty hacked up over the years, and I'd very much like to see
where a lot of this stuff should go in a perfect world.

I have an electric fuel pump, but its routed through the old
mechanical pump, which appears to be leaking (Directly onto the
starter motor. Theres a recipe for fun!). I'd like to remove the
mechanical pump from the loop altogether. Does anyone make a cover
plate for the hole where the fuel pump goes?

Also, while my bilge fan kicks on when I turn the key, no amount of
waiting seems to make the starter kick over. After a couple of
minutes, I generally push the button on the lower left control panel
and then turning the key starts the car. From my reading, I suspect
the vacuum tube might be shot. I'll look into it some more once I get
the fuel leak nailed down.

Peter,

Look in the photos section for the 1296 eng.. folder. You will find
John Frieses' eng compartment of his white car. Easy to see stuff in
the bottom as the inside is also white. I have not seen a nicer or
cleaner one (a few mods) but you might look for another car close to
you for an up close photo session. I also did this with Ray Handlosers
car when re-assembly came time to do. I got my car mostly in boxes.

Good luck!

Mark

Peter,

The 1296 photos in the photo section get reduced in size from the
originals. Email me if you would like larger photos so you can see
the details more clearly. It is a 1296 engine installation that is
fully tricked out for hard driving so there are some modifications
that won't be exactly like a stock 1147 installation such as a Weber
carb., negative ground conversion with alternator, a catch can to
scrub the blow-by fumes etc. I probably have photos of the car when
it had it's 1147 in it too so you can ask for some of those if you
would like them too.
