I don't think I have seen this posted yet but what does everyone do
with the old gas in the tanks that has been sitting there for years?

Any (legal)ideas

Doug,
usually a gas station that has a garage, is required by law to provide a
dump for people
in your situation. They have to maintain a dump to have the garage.
I have dropped expired, and dirty fuel off to a station like that before.

Doug,

Depending on local laws, you may have several choices. Here in
Colorado, most of the Jiffy Lube type places are required to accept
it at no charge as long as it is not mixed with any other type of
materials.

Doug,
I put all old gas in a 5 gal. bucket and put it behind the shop and
let it evaporate.

I agree. It's much better to pour it into the cracks in the driveway, light it,
and incinerate the ants.

Sell it to the Polynesian flame eaters. Nothing better than a win/win.
