Your'e such a ham-bone, But you are so right about this club!! We all love each other like family!! If I ever had to sell my amphi's, I would hang on to a hood or axle or something just to stay in the club and keep the connection to greatest group of people.
Shame on them. Putting the Amphicar in the same article where a
King Midget and (heaven forbid) a pinto are discussed! I unfortunately
have not had the privelege of being in an Amphi on the water but have
had a short land ride.(big smiles) I have also ridden in a pinto (head
bowed down) and stood next to a midget and let me tell you, we're
talking 2 different worlds. You can almost feel the magic of an
Amphicar upon first sight and looking at an Amphicar, you get the
feeling that it talks to you telling you that it loves it's owner or
is begging you to adopt it and love it. I am currently looking to
adopt a project and let me tell you, I know where a midget is close to
my house as well as several other old verts but only an Amphi will do.
They should have talked about the friendships, compassion, pride, and
loyalty that this group has. We are not like any other car club and
when I get my project Amphi, it will not be a car purchase, it will be
an adoption that I'll cherish and love, rust and all. Bobby
Bobby - No doubt that you speak "Amphi" and the right one will show up
begging you to take her home. These cars do indeed have the certain
somthing, a personality if you will, that forces you to smile. I
notice people smiling even before they understand just what it is that
they are looking at. How can that be bad?
As a matter of rule, I hate clubs and all they usually represent. I
always said I'd never join any of them. Well now I am a board member!
The Amphi club is a close buch of friends who love Amphicars from the
rusty parts cars to the perfect ones. Nobody I have ever heard will
look at your car and insult you because you have something that is
incorrect (Corvette club is notorious for that). If it's an Amphi, we
love it! (yes, even the yellow ones!, OK, running for cover now.....)
I'm off to detail the Amphicar Extraordinaire for the parade tomorrow.
Only one Amphi in the parade this time. I sold one and the other is
not driveable yet. Last year I had 3 of my cars there. A guy asked if
therewas a club here. I said sure is, just me!
