Hi,
My name is Steve Hofmann and I would like to introduce myself to the group. I
live in Los Angeles. I own a 1964 that is currently being stripped at the
sandblaster. The color is a freightening blue metallic that only ol' Earl Sheib
( Famous for the slogan; " I'll paint any car for 49.95") could love. The car
will be restored to it's original white. I am seeking paint codes for the white
color, prefferably in Dupont Chromabase. I am also considring painting in Imron,
and would be interested in speaking with anyone who has some experience with the
stuff - is it something to consider for an amphibian? I feel a slight sense of
comfort in the fact the car was a runner before my decision to restore... but
before I would even consider a trip into the water, I knew it had to be gone
through. Could someone tell me how to post pictures? I am also seeking a decent
body shop in the metro LA area to do the final prep and paint on the car... so
any suggestions here would also help me. Gawd... I hope I can remember where all
these pieces go... Thanks!

Hiya Steve!

Welcome aboard. My name is Dan, and I am a pretty new member myself. I too own a
white '64, and it just took it's first swim in at least 20 years this weekend.
If you would like to read about my "fixing it up" ( I hate to say restore,
because I think that may be too fancy for me), here is the URL:
