Just recieved news that Branson has crossed the 21 mile wide English channel
from England to France in Aquada in a record time of 90 minutes. Understand he
got a bit stuck on the French beach but otherwise all fine. Perfect weather
conditions today and a calm flat sea - unlike the Force 5 when Amphicars went
across in 6 hours almost 40 years ago !

And unless I missed it or remember the wrong Brittish names, the CNN
article
<http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/europe/06/14/branso
n.record.reut/index.html>
does not even the two british army officers with Amphicars from the
60's.

And unlike the Amphicar, I'd bet they find the rougher weather a "bit
refreshing" with the waves crashing over the windshield as they have
no top nor windows for protection from the sea.
