Nashville swim

Marty,
Glad to hear you all had a great time up in Illinois.....

Meanwhile, 7 Amphicars and 1 Alvis Stalwart enjoyed the day in Nashville,
Tennessee. (what's this...so many Regional events that we have two in one
day!) We've come a long way. Two events, one day, with 14
Amphicars....that's more than ever attended a "National" event of the Club
prior to 1999 Celina!
In any case....the lake in Nashville was a perfect setting. Multiple boat
ramps let the Amphicars frolic about, and the lake even had a great island
that some of the cars came up onto the shore for a nice Saturday afternoon!
Lot's of media coverage, too. A simple article in the paper Friday brought
out two news stations....one of which had a reporter that really took a
liking to Doug Parsons! (but that's another story) Doug was quite smitten
by her.
Thanks to Rick and Jo Young for putting the event together. They truly are
great hosts providing all in attendance with a nice tote bag with an event
logo and date on it and making sure everyone felt right at home.

It was a great weekend!

I would like to say thanks to everyone who attended the Nashville
Swim. It was a great weekend and we certainly appreciate everyone's
participation in making it a memorable event. The news crews were an
unexpected and nice surprise. The weather was great all weekend
except for about an hour and a half of rain on Saturday. It rained
just long enough to pause things for a little while, so we used the
opportunity to take a break and eat lunch...the timing couldn't have
been better. The only problem with these events are that they never
seem to last long enough. It seemed like everyone had just gotten
there, and then before we knew it, it was already time to leave. Oh
well, it just makes everyone look forward to meeting again in Celina.

Also, I would like to say thanks to Victor Brown for taking me out in
his car on Sunday and completely opening the door while in the water!
(That is something I've always wanted to experience, but never wanted
to try in my own car!)
