Greetings again Pacific NW Amphicar Owners and Enthusiasts!

Just two weeks now until this annual extravaganza. I have signed up an Amphicar contingent for the "Spirit Class" as in the past and will be making the trek down to the Seattle Yacht Club (SYC) on Thursday, May 30th to finalize it all and to pick up our parade boat numbers. ("Spirit" is a judged class, so outrageous decoration is not required, but always appropriate).

If you would like to attend, please show up at the Gasworks Park parking lot off of Northlake Way about 11:00 Saturday morning (MAY 2) where we can gather, chat, and apply our parade numbers. About 11:40 we will head to the Puget Sound Yacht Club/Seattle Marina ramp, launch, and swim under the I-5 & Eastlake bridges into the Lake Union Staging Area. It is usually a couple of hour wait while our eclectic little cars impress the multi-thousand dollar yachts, cruise the houseboats, and stop traffic on 520.

We then make the run through the Montlake Cut into Lake Washington to the cheer of the crowds, along the boats tethered to the log-booms, finally around the northerly log-boom and back to the stadium area until the fireboat passes and the Seattle Police let us be first to head back the way we came. Weather dependent we can cruise across Lake Union to the swanky Eastlake area or just back to the ramp and to Ivar's for a group (no host) dinner!

The weather (unusually) should be fantastic this year so we are hoping for a good turn out!

Hope to see you there! Please feel free to pass this information on to anyone who may be interested!

Keep those fins up!

Wish we could attend but it's a long way to drive the Amphicar. Hope others can make it. Sure sounds fun. Please give us a report.
