In response to Shellee's appeal for movie info below, it should be admitted
that since we all dig Shellee something wicked over at Amphicar.net, we're
inclined to pull out all the research stops to make her happy, but even we
can't figure out what that second item might be, given that we only have
"German film set in Africa" to go on, and that despite the fact that we're
all fluent speakers of German here...Aber sicher! With that said, we are
contacting our German operatives regarding this matter, and hope for some
reply soon. In the meantime, here's the skinny on the first film:
"The Agent from H.A.R.M." (1966) Starring Peter Mark Richman as Adam
Chance.
Plot Summary: Wimpy secret agent who looks like Dr. Smith from "Lost In
Space" helps protect a scientist from a generic Iron Curtain country who has
developed a gun that shoots boogers at people from a evil guy who looks like
Pee-Wee Herman.
Apparently it is SUCH a rotten film that it is now positively "campy". So
much so that the cable TV cult show "Mystery Science Theater 3000" picked it
up as the backdrop for its episode #815 (Season 8). Those familiar with the
MST3K series know that the basic premise is that some loser of the future is
forced to orbit around in a space station with various homebuilt robots
while his overseers on Earth, who bear him no good will, subject him to
forced broadcasts of the very worst offerings of the motion picture
art..agent thrillers, gladiator epics, boy-meets-alien-zombie-temptress
films. The real creme de la creme.
