Monster garage

Did anyone see the Discovery Channel's show "Monster Garage"? Kinda
like Junk yard Wars but better. The group has 7 days and nights along
with $3000 to take a provided vehickle and convert it into another
type of vehickle, but it must outwardly appear to be stock. Jesse
James (yes, his real name and decendant of the real Jesse) or East
Coast Cycles is the Captain. He makes some of the hottest custom
bikes by hand.

They did a '92 Explorer into a trash compactor truck, '96 Lincoln
Limo into a firetruck, mustang ragtop into a lawn mower and the best
was a '98 VW Bug into a swamp buggy!

The VW was gutted and a 2nd engine installed in the rear hatch with a
30" dia prop. They pushed a button and the hatch opens, engine, prop
and rudders come out. They used foam filled pontoons built into the
side of the car for floatation.

If ya get a chance, check it out!

I saw it too. Discovery has been running the Monster Garage for the
last two nights. Great stuff for a real gear head like myself. The VW
show was the one I was waiting too see. Wish I had that guys job!...

Great Show (I watched it in Puerto Rico Monday night)
When I got home last night, I TiVo'd the remaining shows. Can't wait to see
the VW one.

favorite of mine. I could not help but vision our own Bill Syx on a
