Our gas cap started leaking a few weeks ago, I ordered a new black
neoprene gasket from Hugh. We still have leaks and we can't seem to
see why. Our vent tube is in place and in good condition. Has
anyone had this happen and found a cure, what may we be missing here?

Hi, Marty,
I had the same problem & found that the neoprene gasket was too hard. I
eventually replaced the neoprene gasket w/ the cork version.
Another option is to remove the gasket from the cap, place the cap on a
bench upsidedown, and lightly strike the attachment springs with a hammer to
move them closer to the inner surface of the cap. Replace the gasket & give
it a try. This should give the cap a tighter grip onto the tank flange.
Good Luck,
