I'm in the process of replacing the oscillating axle bushings. While inspecting the stub axle I noticed the top bushing was down in the bore covering the grease nipple hole. My first thought was that they were installed incorrectly from the factory. But after pressing them out to reposition the top one, I find out the bushing has the same outside diameter as the bore with minimal friction to hold it in place. You can push it in by hand. Both bushings are in good shape with no play in the king pinso I wasn't planing on replacing them.
Anyone ever run across this problem before?
Is there some way to alter the bushing or the bore to cause enough friction to hold it in place?
Or, just buy new ones hoping they will be slightly larger in outside diameter.
