I now have my propeller shafts out of my Amphi. Is there any way to visually
inspect the U-joints for wear? Maybe I'm just too suspicious; the splined prop
shaft slide off the propeller shaft as smooth as you could ask for. I didn't
need the 2-pound hammer, the pry bar, the hydraulic jack or the propane torch at
all.
So, if you rotate the U-joints by hand and they don't feel like there's sand in
the bearings, and they don't seem to have any play (at least as hard as I can
twist them), does this mean they still have plenty of life left in them?
