How remote do you go?

Just wondering haw for the average amphi goes from the nearest boat
ramp. With luck I'll be taking my first plunge in a few weeks. Should I
expect an Amphi to dribble a little? Are any of them completly dry? I
have an after market bilge pump on the way and may even install a back
up. I'm asking becouse I don't have a boat ramp at the house. I'm
working on the permits but it will take some time. I'm not really
expecting to be able to tie it to the dock and leave it. Just wondering
how offten the average Amphi has to bilge. My house is a mile from the
nearst ramp and that one is at the end of a long gravil road. The rap
I'd prefer to use is about sevin miles away.

Craig:

How much an Amphi leaks ranges a wide spectrum. At
Puddingstone Lake in California the other weekend
there were nine Amphicars. One was so dry that he
could sit and fish on the lake for eight hours without
a drop of water in the bilge! Mine on the other hand
would be foolhardy to go real far unless both bilge
pumps were working properly.

I asked the former owner of my car the same questions.
He said he was confident in the car as long as the
water did not get above the floorboards.

Stay real close to the ramp the first few times since
you do not have the prior history on your car.
