How not to retrieve an Amphicar. (was Irish Amphicar)

Sorry folks. Apparently the Dutch forum site showing a series of
pictures was overloaded and pulled. The incident happened in
Roundstone, a quaint little village on the west coast of Ireland where
a car had driven off the harbor wall and landed upside down in about
five feet of water. A tow truck crane was called and lassoed the car
through the passenger compartment windows. The car righted itself when
being raised by its top when suddenly the entire rig toppled in the
drink on top of the car. Yet another bigger crane was then called and
apparently got the job done right.

There's a description on the village web site but no pics.

Thanks Ed for finding a link to the Car in the Harbor. Wish the other
link I saw would come up again. It showed a better series of pictures
of the small crane as it was toppling over as well as the big crane
hosting the small crane up out of the water. Fortunately this is one
of those incidents where we can laugh as no one was killed. Now back
to regularly scheduled Amphicar talk (unless I find those pics).

Found the photos.

For those who want to see the sequence of photos of the crane and car
toppling into the harbor, they're posted in the photos section of
another Yahoo groups site - but you'll have to join to see them.
Fortunately, you already belong to the Amphicar-lovers group so adding
another group should be easy.

Go to your Amphicar-lovers groups site
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/amphicar-lovers/ Then in the
upper right corner click on Groups. Under Join a Group, type in
Arcane_autos. Then select the Arcane_autos group and join the group.

Once in, the Car in the Harbor photos are in the Photos section at this
link
http://photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/arcane_autos/lst?.dir=/

All the best,
