Greetings all,

I've been in contact with the producers of a new series soon to be airing on the
History Channel entitled "Tactical
to Practical". We're scheduled to shoot later this week. Amphi got so nervous
when the producer mentioned that the
show reaches 82 million households. He's been in the garage preening himself
all week. Suppose I should get my
lines down too. As mentioned below, they're looking to show the "fun" in all
these spin-off inventions.

They asked if I know of anyone in the country who owns a Schwimmwagen who would
also like to appear in the episode.
Any referrals?

Here's what the producer had to say about the new show: The series looks at how
equipment and technology transfer
back and forth between the military and civilian worlds. In our episode about
"specialty boats" we are featuring the
Amphicar.

Twelve One-Hour Specials Appearing on the History Channel.

Tactical to Practical is a new series exploring stories of incredible invention,
surprising technology, and product
innovation born in the midst of conflict that have evolved into new and exciting
applications for civilian life. It
also profiles technology from the civilian sector that has been added to the
toolkit of our military forces.

Each one-hour episode of Tactical To Practical features three individual stories
-- fascinating accounts of action,
adventure and creative invention -- told in an entertaining manner with first
person interviews, historical footage,
animations and current lifestyle sequences from around the country. Emphasis is
on the ?wow? factor featuring
compelling history and exciting and visually rich demonstrations of great
gadgets. And those demonstrations are
often performed by our rugged ?I?ll try anything? host, former Navy Fighter
Pilot Hunter Ellis. Hunter?s involvement
in the stories makes them come alive on screen.

Tactical to Practical is a tribute to the talented men, women and organizations
that have earned a place on the pages
of history as originators of important contributions to our modern society.

I'll let you know how it goes. Wish me luck.

Hello Ken,

There's a guy up in Santa Barbara who has a restored Schwimwagen. I
haven't talked to him about being in the show but most people would
find it amusing.
