John,
I found a company in the UK that can make any harness LHD/RHD for about
?40=$60 (volume levels)if we gave them a a master copy ( lengths/connectors
etc). They currently make wiring looms for over 100 classic cars but do not
do the amphicar. May I suggest that any new loom includes extra provision for
GPS power (under dash),tachometer connection at distributor to dash area,
towing connector pack maybe, trickle charger input connector etc

Cheers

Many times rear harness is "crispy" . I like the idea of a new
alternator ready harness. Maybe a whole kit with fuel gauge, brackets,
bolts and belt.
Another night in garage. I came in tired and in the Emails is a pic of
Cap N John making giant splash. I can't wait to get past the welding
"hump". Later Dave the Wave

Paul,

I am sure a lot of our cars wiring is gettng crunchy and the
connectores are corroded.

These are exactly some of the extras I was thinking of. The Addition
of a switched power connector, the tack lead as well as provisions
for electric fuel pump or second automatic bilge pump, engine
compartment/trunk lighting. On the Amphicar extraordinaire, I used an
original interior light mounted to the light pole bracket and wired
to the light pole socket.

Keep in mind this is just in the idea stage so far. I will be
contacting some of these companies to see about making them in
numbers and at a reasonable cost.

John
