Just a note of warning for those who have read the fine print.
The Hagerty insurance marine policy is for liability only. It does not cover
recovery of sunken or stuck cars. Recovery of a sunken or stuck car would fall
under towing in the car policy. The towing is only a $75 dollar reimbursement.
According to Chris at Hagerty, the car is not a boat, so we are not offered the
same types of insurance coverage as a true boat. A true boat owner can purchase
additinal boat towing insurance for the cost of $20 per $200 dollars of
coverage.
If your car sinks or gets stuck, it's our financial problem. The only recourse
we have, is to file a claim for a total loss and take the replacement cost check
for the value that we are paying for. Then it would be Hagerty's problem to
recover the car for salvage if they want to.
Just so you know!!
