Gadget Recommendation from Bilgey

OK, so this recommendation MIGHT be a little "off-topic", but it's SO easy
to imagine it being such a handy tool, if not an outright lifesaver, for any
Amphi owner that I just cant resist:

If you're in the USA, check out the "Sidekick" at :
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000A0AZC/rupraechtwilcosm

What with this mid-Atlantic warm snap, I just returned from reading my email
and surfing the web in color in the middle of the Potomac as the sun was
going down. And...ladies and gentleman, apart from not leaking even a single
drop after a full two hour cruise (no, not even a single lonely dribblet), I
just can't tell you what a hoot this "Sidekick" device is. It browses the
web, does any kind of email (web-access or POP server) you'd care to use,
does instant messaging, keeps your calendar in order, doubles as a handy
cell phone and even vibrates for those, you know, "lonely" moonlit cruises.

And you know what's really swell? If you order before January 6th at the
link above, you'll not only get it for free, but even MAKE $31 on the
purchase after rebates at Amazon with a single year's service agreement,
which is only $29/month for unlimited data and email access with 20 cents
per phone call. (other plans available).

This is THE combination phone-web-browser-email gadget I've been waiting
for!

~Bilgey~

I too am a "Sidekick" user, have been
for over 2 years with the old mono-chrome
model and recently upgraded to the color
Sidekick. Perhaps the best electronic
gadget I've ever owned. I also bought
the new higher resolution camera attachment
which allows you to send decent medium
resolution photos instantly from anywhere
to anyone with an email address. I gave
Mermaid my old mono-chrome Sidekick and
now shes hooked too. We do the instant
chat, send emails with photos, and even
use the cell phone feature. There is a
calendar, To-Do list, Notes, Web Browser,
and free downloadable calculator, custom
ring tones, world clock, and games, etc...
And the address book has powerful features
for doing all sorts of goodies. Overall,
the Sidekick is an Amphipoda endorsed user
friendly gadget for both the tech savy geek
& the not-so-savy/geeky. Only one drawback
is that it does not sync with MS Outlook,
but I here from my friends at Danger/Hiptop
(the creators in the SF Bay Area) that they
are working on that and will be "over the
air" upgrading everyones Sidekick sometime
in 2004. They average 3 or 4 free over the
air upgrades a year. Enjoy your new toy
Bilgey and drop us an AOL chat sometime;

Amphipoda = "amphipodaswims"
Mermaid = "mermaid100557"

PS - Bilgey, there's an easter egg in the
Sidekick for a funky skier game.
