Hi Group--Ken in Louisiana here--David Chapman, across the big pond
used to have an article about the two brave chaps who took two
Amphicars across the Channel-I think that website is no more---is it
someplace else or does anyone have it stored--congradulations to Dave
on his successful and fun filled get together--too bad about the dead
guy

It's still on the website:
http://www.amphicars.com/ukchancro.htm
One of the cars that took part has survived.
Sadly a channel crossing in an Amphicar is no longer possible, political and
legal changes, anyone who tried would be lifted by coastguard helecopter and
arrested.

There is a clip of an Amphicar preparing for an earlier channel crossing in
1964 on the British Pathe website http://www.britishpathe.com It's a great
site but not the easiest to navigate, you have to go through a checkout
proceedure to get the free clips. Don't tell anyone but for test purposes
and for a short time you can get the files from here:
http://www.amphicars.com/clips.htm Needs Windows Media Player Version 8 or
later - and it'll be slow until we go to bed here in the UK - about 2pm
California time.
