Scott,
use a meat thermometer and see what the temperature is in the radiator after
running the car for a while... if the water is under 160 and seems cool to the
touch, you may want to check your thermostat to see if it is opening all the
way... you may need a new thermostat... take-care, john (cigar) capone

ALL OF A SUDDEN ... I notice that the engine temperature is well into
the red above NORMAL. Usually it is always on the "R" in normal.

I checked the RAD and found the level to be full and the mixture
correct, not too much antifreese and not too much water. It shows
one down and the rest floating .... good to -34 F.

Where do I go from here? Can I check the temperature with an IR
guage directly on the engine? Do I have a thermostat or sending unit
problem? Any thoughts or guidance would be appreciated.

Signed, HOT AND BOTHERED ;-)
