Disc Brakes

Has anybody made a conversion to disc brakes ? I have been talking to
a mechanic friend of mine and he believes that Mini Cooper S front
disc brakes would work. Of course we would need to install a diagonal
circuit system and a safety switch for an inbalanced system ala the
Triumph Stag/Jaguar system. I would think another benefit of disc
brakes would be seawater swimming since more brake would be exposed
back on dry land alowing faster dry off time. Also adjustment and
maintenance would be easier. Comments please
Paul Senior.

Mini guys tend to install MG Midget / Austin Healey Sprite disc brakes because
their brakes are too small. And the Amphicar is a lot heavier than any Mini or
Spridget...

I'm trying to get a set of disc brakes designed for my car. Has anyone
done this yet? What was the outcome?

Would there be any interest in conversion kits for the front drums to
front disc brakes?

They may be as much as $850 per set so the more sets the better.

Please let me know if there is any interest.

Thanks

Last week member "injuneer" asked about disc brakes. Sam Ferg in
Indiana has designed a great DISC BRAKE setup fore the Amphicar. Maybe
someone in the group can post a contact for him.
