charging system

Charging System Help!!
I need help with a little troubleshooting.
My battery keeps going dead when I?m using the car.
Here?s what I?ve done.

1. When I charge the battery with a charger, the car starts great.
2. When I put a voltmeter on the freshly charged battery, it shows 13volts.
3. When I rev the engine, the voltmeter doesn?t fluctuate, it stays at 13
volts.
4 When I remove the 2 wires from the generator &
replace it with one wire from the D to F terminal,
then put a voltmeter from the terminal to ground & rev the engine,
the voltmeter moves up, indicating the generator is OK.

It kind looks like a regulator problem,
but I don?t remember how to troubleshoot it.
Any ideas?????

Just replace the regulator.

And if that doesn't fix it, then you have a wiring problem from regulator to
generator.

Ken,

You have already done the tests, your results show the regulator has
gone to the great parts bin in the sky. It's a 90% chance it's the
reg. and 10% it's wiring as Ed pointed out.
