I can't say enough about the city or the Hotels. I've only stayed in the
Holiday Inn but for us it's always been a perfect experience. I think were
very luck to have what we do! Few, if any clubs get what we get out of
Celina for their national meets. If it's ever moved (and I'm not negative
on it) don't expect to find a similar set up. (Central location, Festival,
Donated Banquet facilities, Lake,Fireworks, Ramps, Bars, Eagles, Parade,
Hotel locations etc. (not to mention Mike Baymans hang out spot).

We might be a small club but were on top when it comes to the national meet.
IMHO

ILOVE CELINA...

But I have only been there twice before...A lot of friends in the club are just tired of the place, they have been there many more times than me...I don't think we should forget about it, but maybe we can skip a year there and go somewhere else like Lake in the Ozarksnear St louisor gowest a littleto get more of our California friends to the meet... I think Gord Souter is right, We should talk about it at this years event.. Celina will always want us back even if it is not every year...

I look forward to see everyone in Celina!!!

I love Celina,
Yes its true but I only live 1 Hour away. But just a few positives
and negatives.
Positives.
1. free parking at the Eagles
2. Free hall to have our awards cerimony
3. Donated awards dinner (Donation requested)
4. Parade (one not smaller than Macy's)
5. Great car show ( one attended by Dennis Gage of Car
Crazy)
6. Great fireworks
7. Police dept used for the parades and to the lake
8. Police that see open beer in cars but just look the
other way and tell you not to drink and drive.
9. A crowd of about 10,000 people when we splash in on
friday night
10. A tent set by the Eagles for our use.
11. Park your car and not have it Stolen
Negatives
1. Green water
2. Hotel accomidations
Please if anyone has anything to add please add at this time. Also
I am not against moving but just come up with something equal. A lot
of Clubs and organizations move there annual meetings once a year.
Please think about it and come up with different places.

<table>Why not consider having twomeets each year? One at Celina and hosted someplace
different each year? I know that there is a lot of work that goes into putting together the
meeteach year and it's fun to have as many cars as possible. Having twomeets might dilute attendance at either one. But a number of folks already put on smaller meets
anyway. Maybe we could pick one of them to be the official "travelling Amphicar meet" for that year and provide some extra support in some way. Since I live in Ohio just 2 hours from Celina I'd love for it to stay here, but I know it's hard for folks out east and out west. Unfortunately my car won't be ready for this year's meet. And next year I bet the meet will be one or two weeks before my board exams and I'm not smart enough to not be cramming for them at that time. I'd entertain the idea of letting one of you guys out on the west coast (or east coast) adopt my Amphi for the weekend in July 2006 if you wanted to drive it from Columbus, OH to Celina if I can't make it and you wanted a car--just don't let your car know that you were cheating on it!

I would like to second Larry's comments.

I loved Mt. Dora, but haven't had a chance to get to Celina. I have always enjoyed reading the newsletter stories about all the swim-ins. I had hoped to trailer my car from California to Celina this year, but family matters got in the way. We have already scheduled our 2006 Celina trip and are looking forward to all the fun.
