I don't believe the date has been officially set as of yet. I think
they do it after the first festibile committee meeting? Checked the
Celina website and there is no mention of next years dates either.
May be a few months until all is set in stone? Probably be towards
the end of July as usual.

The Celina Lake Festival (and of course the big Swim In) is scheduled
for July 27-29, 2007. With that said, be aware that folks roll into
town earlier and earlier each year. Many people arrive on Wed. or
before...so plan accordingly.

Being located alongside PA Dutch country and part Dutch myself I
going to plead ignorant..............again. Seems to becoming a
trend, plus to much in a hurry to use spell check, or understand all
the words you have to choose from.

So lets try some Dutch; "go tie the dog loose" , throw the cow over
the fence, some hay" , etc. Time for a nice big piece of shoofly pie
with the wet bottom!

Have a good New Years!!!!! Were staying aboard ship (home) this year.

Ed, I'd say the season begins sometime in spring.

Distlefink: The distlefink legend began with the goldfinch. The
goldfinch helped rid the farmers field of thistles. The PA Dutch
farmer called it the "Thistlefinch" and due to his German accent it
sounded like "Distlefink". The bird rid the farmer of thistle weed
from his field therefore bringing him good luck and good fortune.
