Carpartswholesale on Ebay

Greetings all,

About six weeks ago, I kindly complained to Carpartswholesale about their items listed on Ebay. I told them that what they sell will not work on the Amphicar with the exception of their antennas. Their response was, in so many words they will remove them. The third and last time I e-mailed them I was not so kind as they kept adding new auctions. That was about ten days ago.

Yesterday, out of nowhere I received the following e-mail:

Good day to you. We appreciate you for visiting our store,www.carpartswholesale.

We are very sorry that the advertisements still appear. Since you first brought the error to our attention, we have immediately alerted our Catalog Department to remove the advertisements. They informed us they are working on the problem. Unfortunately, it is such a big data that it will take some time before our Catalog Department can completely remove them from the listing. We hope you will understand us in this matter.

Should you have further concerns, feel free to email us back at anytime.
We are available from Monday to Sunday 5AM to 11PM PST and are always
ready to assist you with any issue that you may have.

Thank you for pointing us our error and Happy Holidays!

Sincerely,

Rod Cooper

I don't know how you folks feel but I think it's a real drag to have to weed through their auctions to find authentic Amphicar parts. I doubt a flood of e-mails to them or a complaint to Ebay would get them to remove them. I suspect their lame e-mail above is supposed to pacify me for now but it's not working.

I've been politely complaining for years all with the same "Go away kid, you're bugging me!" attitude. That will never work on me! Mooo hoo hoo bwa ha ha ha!

There is a very SIMPLE search that alleviates this problem without loosing a single result of your target of the search, so it don't affect me at all any more. They come up with O2 sensors and CPU upgrades for my '59 Skyliner too! so it's widespread and as usual, neither eBay nor the seller cares because you are never going to buy an O2 sensor for your Amphi. You're not a customer!

Since they have not really stopped, I have some childish fun with carpartswholesale. I send the really stupid questions about their items. For example, I ask them if their lights are coast guard certified for use on amphibious vehicles.

They usually do reply. This costs them time and money.

Call them on their 800 number. Free to you, but burns their time. Be polite,
but be chatty. Maybe if enough of us adopted that as a hobby, they might
notice.

On a similar note, I take any junk mail I get and put in the pre-paid junk envelopes I get, then mail all the junk from everybody back to them on thier nickel! :dft003: They don't pay unless the envelops are used. For the annoying people of the web, I just use the proper tools to exclude them.:005:

On the Ebay item listing page there is something called "REPORT ITEM" I just reported (Carpartswholesale) spare tire cover being for a Jeep as in the picture, not an Amphicar. So it is obviously a scam! maybe if they get enough of these reports Ebay will do something??

Carpartswholesale...Seat belts= dangerous to use in Amphicar as they dont have quick release attachment, could cause death! Airfilters= sit too high and could interfere with closing rear engine lid, could cause engine fire, not designed for an Amphicar and obviously a scam. Tire inflation kit=Doubtful if designed for underwater use as on an Amphicar. Another scam! Tire cover= for Jeep, not Amphicar

The technique is called "keyword spamming", and yes, it is specifically
contrary to eBay rules. A seller packs in a bunch of words that grabs
everybody doing a search. Very unethical and rude.

OTOH, what is eBay's incentive to ban such sellers? Look at the seller
ratings for these sellers; hundreds of thousands. Does that tell you
anything about the commission flow that these unethical sellers are causing
to flow into eBay? Does that sound like eBay cares if the practice annoys
you?

Clicking on that REPORT box at eBay is like tossing coins in a wishing well.

It's not just Amphicars, it's almost every make! I don't see thier stuff in my search anyway.

Apparently eBay has modified Advance Search to allow blocking of specific sellers.

Advanced Search is the best solution to your concern. It can help you
refine your search by excluding certain words or sellers, looking for
the exact words, any of the words or all of the words.

1) To access the Advanced Search, please click on the "Advanced Search"
link at the top of any eBay page.

2) Next, you have to again click on the "Advanced Search" link and fill
out all the information you want to include or exclude from your search.

You can narrow your search down for sellers by following these steps:

1) After going to the advance search page, you have to go to the section
"From Sellers".

2) Now got to the option "From specific sellers".

3) Click on the dropdown and select 'exclude' option.

4) You have to then enter the user ID's of the selers you wish to
exclude. You can enter atmost ten user ID's at a time. you have to
separate the user IDs of different sellers by a comma or a space
