I'm offering "the correct running" carburetor for your Amphicar for $185.00
plus $7.00 Shipping. These are being offered at this super low price so I
can recoup some of my investment. Once I sell a some of them I'll have to
up the price a little bit. I urge you to consider one of these new carbs if
you need one. If yours is still running well you might want to consider one
for the shelf as a spare since these particular carbs are the ones you need
and might not find them again. Please email me offline is you have any
questions or call me at 630-241-9703.

I think the price is fantastic plus more importantly your car will run well,
Thanks

Here is a bit of background:

A couple of years ago my cars began to show carb problems. They ran poorly
and began leaking drops etc. I tried the new Solex/Zenith units which have
been available for years at about $300.00 plus (since I didn't want to give
up my core) but I knew they were not correct but they did fit. They are not
set up for the Amphicar and run too rich etc. I also tried a rebuild at a
similar high price but they ran poorly also. I simply became tired of
settling for something which fit but worked poorly. I'll never forget
swapping cars at Celina several times.......I decided to lean about these
carbs, asked questions etc and went looking. Finally I was contacted by a
collector who said he had new Solex only carbs which were factory set up
just as the Amphicars. I purchased a couple and they worked great. I
purchased another 20 and sold them all so went back for another 10 then
another 20 and again sold them all at a higher price than listed above.
I've had nothing but positive comments.

It thought they were gone but recently the same supplier called and said he
found more and I bought them all. Since I had purchased so many before he
offered them to me at a lower price but I had to buy them all. I figured
why not save these for our Amphi's. The low price is to recoup some of my
investment up front. Please grab one if you can. You won't find these
elsewhere.

I also became tired of the replacement fuel pumps so I began looking for
good ones or at least new diaphragms to rebuild mine. I think I have found
some diaphragms and everyone who buys a carb will get first chance at one of
these if you want it. I'll post a note to the list and offer them at a low
price if they come in. With these carbs, hopefully new diaphragms and Allan
Woodcocks new fuel lines (always check your lines) you should be in great
shape. At this price you'll also save enough money.

Regarding the carburetors, Please sent a check to me at the address below,
email me offlist at echemike@sbcglobal.net or call me at the number above
if you want one or two at this price!!! These carbs are perfectly new just
as they left the Solex factory. Thanks, Mike

PS: forgive me for using the list as for an ad however this is a super deal
and carbs are important. The last few batches lasted only days so I please
let me know. I'll also be glad to hold one back for anyone for a month or
so to. Just let me know.

I can certainly endorse Mike on this one based on
personal experience. When I first got my Amphi I
fitted it with the Zenith and never could get it to
run other than way rich. I figured it was probably
the wrong needle but lived with it and never needed to
use my choke!

A year ago, I fitted one of the Solex units provided
by Mike. I was easily able to tune it to the point
where it could even have passed an emissions test.
Actually, the only tuning I had to do was adjust the
idle.

These are definitely one of those items worth keeping
a spare on the shelf. At the price point which Mike
is selling these, they make more sense than a rebuild.

Usual disclaimers apply ... no commercial connection,
this is NOT a paid endorsement. Just my own feedback
as a satisfied customer.

Contact Ron Trudeau. . he has some of my really good rebuilt carbs on hand in Manchester NH..
I will have some at Celina..(Exchange only!)
Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 carbs to make 1 good one so inventory is getting low.

The source Mike mentioned in 2005 was in the UK. Dad spoke to them a few months ago. There are no more. They had lots back then to the point that any that weren't 100% perfect they threw in a scrap box. A couple of years ago they went through the scrap box and managed to make a few more but they are all gone now. Sure there will be 1s and 2s that appear that people have under the bed for their own cars but no chance of finding quantities of NOS Solex and Zenith, however, at least in the UK, they can be rebuilt as parts have been made but the parts are expensive so a rebuild would likely be around £120 - $200
