Received the completed carb back from Carbs, Etc. in
Phoenix today. I'm pleased to announce the
workmanship lived up to the advertising! Total price
was $114.00 + $15.00 fgt for a complete overhaul
including new throttle shaft bushings. They even
cleaned up & plugged an ugly hole in the upper barrel
caused from an overtightened flame arrestor set screw,
at no extra charge. Surprisingly even the mixture
setting was right on.

I had removed the points and added a Pertronix
LU-142AP12 ignitor while the carb was out, so it was a
real pleasure to have Amphi start right up. The test
drive/swim was a success.

For those interested:

Now that she's running, Amphi gets hooked up to the
Breeze again and we're off to Calgary, Lake Louise and
Edmonton in the morning!

Larry,

Great info. Makes me glad I never returned my "core".

I also did the pertronix. This is a highly recommended upgrade. No
modifications required that would detract from the originality of the
car. The whole unit fits under the distributor in lieu of the points.

BTW, I am told that the Euro spec Amphis did not use the flame
arestor and that removing it will improve performance. Have not
tried this yet myself.
