I just had my carb off for a tune up and did not see any curved surface. It looks like you need two gaskets because you need one on the top and bottom of a spacer block. I am no mechanic so when I re assembled my carb. and was all set to install it on the car I saw a tiny little metal ball on the bench. I didnt know where that was for. I went over to my PC and dialed in the new maintenance manual and found a photo of the carb. I copied and then printed the photo and easily found where to put the the little ball. Thanks to J Bevins for the nice job on the manual.
