Hi John, I made six they are made of a black flannel back car cover fabric.
We make circus float covers using this fabric. These are fitted covers made
for the Amphicars. I made them the same on both ends so they fit either way
that is, either end goes toward the front. I gotta go now but I will let you
know later today. Tommy in Tampa

Has anyone purchased a custom fitted car cover for their Amphi? I
don't park her outside so that type is not necessary. It would be
nice to know if any companies have the pattern so I don't have to get
a generic cover.

Hand controls are almost done, just need a 12v vacuum pump to operate
the booster, as my Ranger refuses to follow the amphi around with a
vacuum umbilical cord attached! ;) I will post updated pics once I
have the pump installed.

CDs/books ship tomorrow! Yes, really they will, I promise!! If you
have an old version, get it to me for the -->free<-- upgrade! This is
the final time I post about the upgrade here.

Hi,
A place called Covercraft makes most all the covers out there,
including those that have other labels on them. They definitely have
a pattern for the Amphicar. They sell covers in a number of fabrics.
These fabrics have differing qualities and that's the most difficult
thing to figure out. They have a web site http://www.covercraft.com/

More info on Amphi custom car covers. I forget the gentlemans name I met at
Celina with a fit like glove custom cover, but he gave me the name of the
company that he bought his from. Call Murphy Eulgen at 1-800-529-8315 Tell
him that Chuck in MI sent ya. His company is Murphy's motoring accessories. I
bought the "Evolution" almost waterproof fabric (comes in several colors).
There is a discount for more than 1 cover. However since this was a referral
from the other Amphicar owner he gave me a 10% discount on my cover with an
antenna mast pocket and storage bag. This is a top of the line fabric . Cost
is $159 minus a 10% discount.
A little pricey but it fits great, looks great and lets face it , you get
what you pay for.
In regards to Amphicar web site, after joining the club I never did
get the password for members only. Could someone email me with that off line?
Thank you,

as you all know I have a lot of amphicar
and I do drive them all. I have a car cover for each one
most I got locally and got what I paid for but
One I got from Tommy in Tampa and I have to tell you it is the
best by far, perfect fit with top up or down, very soft and strong material
If anyone needs a cover , try to talk Tommy,s Company into making one for
you.
They make large tents for circuses etc.

I couldn't agree more! The cover I have from Tommy is better than any
I ahve tried. It fits either way, top up or down and there is no
front or rear to it so you can't get it on backwards. Very heavy and
durable! Two fins up!

If you really love your Amphi there is something even better than a car cover -
it's called a Carcoon, see www.carcoon.com for details. Amphicar is a snug fit
in a size 4 with a couple of inches all round. I've got the outdoor version and
it works great, when my new garage is built I'll use it indoors.

Best thing is the way it dries without heat and therefore much less chance of
rust - it's no problem putting Amphicar away when wet.

In addition to the covers Tommy has available....
Through a business deal I have recently gained access to 30,000+ custom
vehicle cover patterns for just about anything ever made. And can have
covers made in a number of different fabrics for different storage
needs. For far less than the big retail guys get for the same covers.

So if for some reason Tommy's cover won't fit your set of wheels (or
fins), whatever it may be, shoot me a note off list and we can talk.

Thanks,
Steve

I called Steve and then ordered a car cover for BW2. And yes yellow is
available. I ordered "Noah" the same one Marc the ex Prez bought. That went so
well I went to Dave Chapmans site and now have the swimming Amphicar cursor.
Later Dave the Wave

I have a custom car cover pattern for the Amphi with 10 different
fabrics available depending on your protection needs and budget.
We have made a number of them.
I can email you a picture of the cover on my Amphi.
Give me a call or email me off list if you would like.

John is right, you do not want to use a cover on a vehicle
on an open trailer while moving. Aside from the damage to
the paint on the car, the cover would disintegrate.
