Hi Amphicar Owners,
A different friendly Amphicar customer and competitor called (not
the one who just bought four of our cables for $39.95 and is re-
selling them for $30.00 on e-Bay) and came up with a fantastic
suggestion. He has successfully used choke cables in place of
heater cables. All that is required is to pull the center stainless
wire out of the housing, enough so you can cut the housing to the
same length as the heater cable housing. Then push the stainless
wire back through and cut it off to match the old heater cable
wire. Since our stainless/Teflon cable is only $49.95, before our
attraction discounts, it makes the heater cable an instant winner.
Rosettes
From the attached photos, you'll see both the large 12mm bilge pump
rosette and the correct rosette for all other applications. They
are out for chroming as you read this. Our choke cable rosette is
heavy brass, polished, and chrome plated. Most importantly, it has
the small size hole just wide enough for the cable end. This will
be a vast improvement over the original stamped, crimped steel
rosette as used on original Amphicar cables. Under no circumstances
will we use an open, ugly, large hole design, exposing the cable
housing to the dash.
In a week or so, we'll have our choke/heater cable rosettes
available for installation on our new cables. The bottom line is we
give you a choice. You can elect to go with our stainless cable
without a rosette and save. Or you can attach our rosette for the
beautiful brass/chrome upgrade not available from Amphicar. Here's
the very best news of all. It's simply a matter of price. Our
exclusive choke/heater cable rosette costs only $11.25 before our
discounts. (Yes, it will be on one of our e-mail Weekend Specials
for less. But it's really nice to see how you save now.) The
stainless cable is $49.95 plus $11.25 for the rosette or a total of
$61.20. So based on the competitions raw $96.00 price for a
standard steel cable without a proper brass/chrome rosette, it's all
over. And if you're on "The Plan", your real net cost is only
$46.81!! Maybe we can convince one of our competitors to buy 100
rosettes for $11.25 and put them on e-Bay for $5.00 each. Then we
could buy them back for $5.00 and sell him another 100 for $11.25
each. Go figure!
Soon some very, very, very exciting news is coming. All I can say
is patience, patience. The wait will be extremely rewarding.
