A while back someone (Craig in Alaska?) was asking about tips for building a
boat ramp on their property. For what it's worth, I just happened to
stumble upon the following info thanks to the Virginia Dept. of Game and
Inland Fisheries. So, here it is for the List Archives, if nothing else:
http://www.dgif.state.va.us/boating/bldg_boat_ramps.html
Since I launch and land on sandy beaches of varying firmnesses all the time,
I might guess that a simple truckload of gravel and a rake would probably do
the trick just fine for an Amphicar, just to give it some improved
"purchase" to climb out, but if a proper ramp's what you want, maybe the
above link will help.
