I had the exact same problem. One of my rear drums was red hot.
Turned out that that the adjusting nut one the master cylinder have come
loose allowing the rod to extend too far. Try shortening the throw on
your mastter cyl rod from the pedal. This will allow the master cyl
piston to retract to uncover the holes which lead to the fluid
reservoir.
