Ive sent out my linings to White Post Restorations. 20 a shoe and look
like new. They have been in use on different cars and no one has
complained about stop ability. They have quick turn around time. I have
rear wheel cylinders sleeved there too. For whatever reason I have more
problems with rear failure. For around 90 they get stainless steel
sleeve and reanodize pistons. Viva Celina! Later Dave

Does anyone know what the thickness of the brake shoe material is when new
and how far does it extend past the rivets?

TOOK SOME READINGS OFF THE ORGIGNAL NEW SHOES.
THESE WERE FRONTS.
THE LINNING IS 5.5MM(.220IN)
THE RIVET IS 2.8MM (.110) DOWN FROM THE TOP ,THATS AROUND 1/8 INCH AND
BRAKES SHOULD BE REPLACED WHEN THIS DISTANCE IS LESS THAN 1/16
ON THE BRIGHTER SIDE OF THIS COLD MONTH(-35% F YESTERDAY am.)
I panted one of my Amphis today,Bright red,a little brigher than orginal,
used 1999 dogde vipper
red.in Dupont Primier..Cost $125.00 Canadian a liter just for the colour,
then you have to buy the hardner etc.,,but I messed up and now have to sand
out some spots, buy more paint and repaint.
Now Im going to take a break for a week and find a warm Island!!!

Hi there, If you had those shoes relined with 1/4" thick linings they will
not go back together. I did the same thing. So I just cut the notch in the
brake shoe that the adjuster goes into a little deeper. They work just the
same
and now I have a LOT of adjustment as the shoes wear down. Tommy in Tampa

Why play around guys. I have done all the work for you.
My brake shoes fit and they WORK!@ even wet, ask anyone who has them.
lets here some replies from those who do.
they are $230exchange for all. This is the most important part of any car on
the road... do it right.

Had a nice visit from a new Amphicar owner last Thursay.
Allan Wysoki from New Hamshire. he was in Toronto on business and drove up
in rush hour to see me
He found out Toronto is as bad as Chicago!
