Brake and park cable question

Good Day All,
I am reinstalling the brakes on the white '64. My mechanic took this apart
prior to MLK day and I have not seen him since.
The question is 1) do the front backing plates bolt to the spindles not
straight up and down but with the top leaning toward the back? So does the front
look like the rear, sorta at an angle?
2) Does the short shoe go on the front of the front?
3) On the park brake cable, about the plastic bead that makes a water tight
seal between the rubber accordion thing and the cable itself. That bead is too
large to go through the pipe that guides the cable through the body of the car
to the rear wheel. I see no way of installing the cable. I can split the bead
on one side, remove the bead install the cable then put the bead on and glue
it where I split it. Anyone had this problem?
I am going to do this tomorrow so a response will be most helpful. Thanks in
advance.

I didn't see a reply to your questions, Tommy, so here
goes:

1) do the front backing plates bolt
> to the spindles not
> straight up and down but with the top leaning toward
> the back?

Yes, to provide access to the bleeder

>2) Does the short shoe go on the front of the front?
Yes

>3) On the park brake cable, about the plastic bead
...
If memory serves, once you remove it from the
bellows it will already be split. I didn't superglue
mine as the bellows & clamp seemed to squeeze it
tight.

Good Luck (& have fun) --LarryS

Thanks a lot Larry,
I must admit the total non-response surprised me too.
