I was rummaging through the basket of loose items I was given when I
purchased my '67 amphicar and found a Blaupunkt am/fm/marine band radio. Is
this original Amphicar? Should I covet this and try to resurrect it?

According to a rare posting by Hugh Gordon in the List Archives at
http://www.escribe.com/automotive/amphicar/m2082.html , Motorola appears to
have been the manufacturer of the original dealer-installed radios, at least
in the USA. According to Hugh, who would know of these things, "There is
one type of North American radio which will easily sell for $800 not
working. It is an early Motorola type with the word "Amphicar" in place of
the usual Motorola name. Ranchero Motors aka Amphicar Corp contracted with
Motorola for a single year run. At all other times the generic Motorola was
a local dealer installed item."
With that said, one DOES see an awful lot of old Blaupunkts in Amphicars, so
there's no reason not to keep yours assuming it works.
