bearing buddy

Countdown Clock to Amphicar Forums Shutdown

Greetings everyone. I recently acquired a 1964 amphicar. Can someone point me in the direction of some bearing buddies? I recently changed all four corners and would like to keep it greased properly.
Thanks in Advance, Miles in Mississippi

You don't need bearing buddies on the rear axles. Just use the original caps and fill them with grease. Use bearing buddies on the front though and grease them sparingly to avoid pushing grease out the back and onto the brakes. For a piece of 10 or 12 gauge copper wire and form it to fit behind the large front, double lipped seal. Without this spacer the inner seal won't touch the hub. I install that large front seal with the spring to the inside so that grease pressure will push the seal tighter against the hub and make it less likely to push through and get onto the brakes.
