I'm looking for some pictures and maybe some dimensions of the battery
tray so I can duplicate it. When I got the cars (both 1964) one of
them had been partly restored and the other one I,m working on now.
Neither one has the battery tray in them so I need to fabricat new
ones.

Thanks
Tony

Tony,
I can send you a photo of a battery tray which was fabricated exactly
like the rusty one which came with my 1966 car. It is a tray about
3/4in larger than the bottom of a battery with left and right sides
folded up about ? inch with straps going up to the battery hold down
bracket. This bracket goes across the battery and across the battery
box ( which I do not use) and connects with the strap coming up from
the battery tray. The Gordon Imports catalog does not show the hold
down bracket but they are in stock and are very reasonable. The part
number is 11-33-02. You can e-mail me off list if you wish

Hello Tony,

I posted photos of the various battery tray parts in the photos seciton
of this site some time ago. They were there the last time I looked but
that section seems to not be working at this moment. I can email the
originals to you if you'd like. Just email me at jfriese(at)

The guys who painted my 64 Amphicar also did a little of welding on it and one thing they did was remove the original battery tray and put in a slightly bigger one that would hold the plastic batterybox that Hugh sells. I have the old battery tray in my Dad's garage. If you can wait until after Thanksgiving I could even mail you the original battery tray (as a loaner, I guess I'd want it back????) so you could get dimensions on it. But I have heard it's better to have the battery in a
plastic box and the original battery try in mine seemed too small for that. Did the later Amphis have bigger battery trays to
