Amphi is back together! A couple of test drives and swims were certainly enjoyable on a sunny Friday afternoon (sorry Mr. Wave). John Friese's clutch system works great -not a hint of chatter or slop. A bit cool to tell for sure, but the new (racing) core in the standard Amphcar radiator cans has kept the original look, but provided at least 40% more cooling efficiency, according to the "advertising" (and less than $300). The new props are shiny and quiet with the newport sidebearings/seals. While I was at it I renewed the front shocks w/ the Surplus Center mod, replaced all of the fluids (Amsoil & Lucas Stabiizer), added one of Ron's Engine Oil Dipstick extensions, greased everything, renewed the double-lip oil seals at the transmission, fully bled the brakes to renew the silicone brake fluid (no honing of the wheel cylinders this year), and put the engine on an exhaust analyzer to optimize the
mixture. Runssmoother and certainly leaner. Even found a beginning crack in the header pipe right at the manifiold flange BEFORE reassembly! Look out Warren --- we'll see you in about 5 weeks! --Larry (and a happy Amphi)

Larry,

You going to Austin too? Cool! Kathy and I are thinking of driving Das
Boot there. We thought about it last year, but chickened out.

Warren, how many does that make so far?
