Back home again...

I will give you all the details of this trip Daryl and I just got back
from mere minutes ago. Went to get an Amphi from Portland, stopping in
San Francisco on the way home. :O It was a great trip, all is well and
I can say that proper tie down methods saved us from what could have
been deadly.

Stay tuned for some adventures in Amphi-dom that will surely make you
re-think how you tie your car down safely! I have to go change my
shorts now....

May I be so bold as to askwhat you paid for the Amphi? He was asking $20K. Seemed like a lot of money.

I paid what we both determined to be a fair and reasonable price based
on the condition of the car. The car you are thinking of is not the
one I purchased. He still has that one for sale. It has a very nice
paint job on it, looks great and if you are truely interested in an
Amphi, you should call Charles and speak with him about it. He is
personable and honest in my experience.

Hi

Keep me informed if you plan on selling your red amphi. We live north of Seattle, Wa on a beautiful freshwater lake.

Thanks

I didn't know we had that many Amphi's out here. I think there's one in North Plains. I live about 15 miles West of Portland. I have a red '64 that I've enjoyed a lot. Put about 500 miles on it over the summer. Drives and stops straight. No tranny noises. Pretty original in reasonable shape. I need to replace the muffler, do some brake work (flex lines)and get an operable bilge pump. Little stuff. Minimal rust in the normal places. I guess Hugh is the best sorce for mufflers. How about brake lines and cylinder booties? I planned on this car being a keeper and spending a lot of time in the water next season. A week ago a situation arose that may change those plans. I may be needing an Amphi that is more suitable for salt water. I have a lot of salt water amphibious seaplane experience to understand the problems. The Dutton car may be a solution but I question it's performance.
