My fellow amphibians?
I've already received several nominations for
the highly coveted Amphibian of the Year
Award (AYA), which is presented annually in
Celina, Ohio during the Saturday evening club
dinner. This award is now going into its 4th
year and has grown in popularity with each
passing year. Prior winners include Hugh
Gordon (2000), Bilgemaster Bill Connelly
(2001), John Bevins, Mike Israel, and Marc
Schlemmer (2002). So now we enter the
nomination process for the AYA of 2003.
Nominations can be posted on this Yahoo
bulletin board or sent directly to me at
amphipoda@yahoo.com. Come the month
of May I will post the top ten most frequently
nominated amphibian names for a vote.
Voting will end on June 1st 2003 [allowing me
time to create the appropriate award(s) for the
July presentation(s)].

Now I know I post a heap of rubbish on this
board and most of it has no real technical value,
but this is the one activity I do take very seriously?
it's our club and we should take a few minutes
out of our busy lives to recognize those amphibians
among us who have given the most to further our
amphibious cause. Nomination criteria is as follows;

First Criteria - Keeping Amphicars afloat,
Second Criteria ? Keeping Amphicar Owners afloat,
Third Criteria is Amphi proliferation through positive press.

Other nomination criterion is welcome.
Let the AYA nomination process begin?

Be well, swim safe.

Take a moment to nominate someone today for Amphibian of the Year. You can
vote for any club member of your choosing. Come on! Let's get some votes
in here. I know there are a lot of members out there who do a lot to help
others and promote the amphicar. Maybe it's as simple as someone who has
provide you information, assistance, a needed part or shared a ride with
you. I know there are a lot of unsung amphicar hero's out there!!!

Regards,
Mike

In case anyone was wondering... I have
surrendered my death grip on the highly
covented Amphibian of the Year Award (AYA)
program. I did this in order to give the
award the greater credibility it deserves. In
so doing I anticipate far better quality awards,
better presentation speeches, and the appropriate
level of recognition deserving of the AYA winner.
(It also gives me time to work on my latest hair-
brain scheme "The Amphibian Hall of Fame.") That
said, please give Mike E. a moment of your valuable
time by casting a vote or two for your favorite
Amphi owner or amphibian (whichever is applicable).
Seems only right we do this in droves so Mike has
an easier time of it and there is a clear winner.
In past years we've enjoyed volumes of votes so
winners were clearly evident. Again, please be
supportive of the AYA and vote early and often!

My many thanks to all who participate!!!
Be well, swim safe.
Swim more in 2004!

The nominations for Amphibian of the Year Award (AYA)
are trickling in. Now would be a great time to email
me OFF-LIST with your picks. There have been many in
our aquatic circle of friends that have contributed
to our amphibious lifestyle in the past 12 months...
The AYA is a way to says thanks.
